Just a simple guy with many ambitions in life. I like to write about my feelings and my experiences. I like to inspire, as well as become inspired. So yeah, lol.
Hope you like thee posts. :]

Every other week or so, I usually go with church groups to go volunteer at homeless shelters or even feed the homeless at facilities. In past months, my usual tasks were to help pack food and help hand them out to people. I used to think of it as, ‘yay I’m helping out the community’ and nothing really much more. But today, we went to this different facility than the one we regularly go to, and my eyes were just opened. Despite the thousands of acres of houses here in Las Vegas, it almost seemed like they stuffed my school’s worth of people inside one warehouse. I got the chance to be able to talk to people around the facility, and it really sucks hearing that they live here because they have no other choice and can’t afford anywhere else. I even talked to a 12 year old girl and her 7 year old brother who were sitting in a corner holding a plastic bag of food rather than eating it themselves. They told me that their mom works so much so they can finally find somewhere else to live, and that she comes back only for about 2 hours and leaves again to work. “We’re worried that she hasn’t eaten yet, so we want to give her this food.” It just made me feel so fortunate to be living the life that I do. I know I’ve complained sometimes before because I can’t have nice things because my family isn’t the most prosperous in the world, but… damn. I’m to the point where I feel that I’ve taken everything in life for granted and rather than being thankful for the blessings that are thrown at me, I’m pushing them away rather. I’m gonna ask where this place is again and I plan on taking a visit again tomorrow, even if it’s just myself. I want to make a difference in my community. -determined-
